About This Project
TopDown VR reimagines the strategy game genre by placing players physically inside a god-game perspective. Instead of viewing a flat screen, players stand above a living diorama world, reaching down to interact with units, terrain, and structures using their hands. The experience combines the strategic depth of games like Populous and Black & White with the physical presence of virtual reality. Players can lean in to examine individual units, use hand gestures to cast abilities, and physically walk around their domain to survey their kingdom from different angles. The game features a campaign mode where players guide a civilization from primitive tribes to a space-faring empire, plus procedurally generated sandbox scenarios. Special attention was given to comfort — the world floats at table height, eliminating the disorientation common in VR strategy games.
